Russia is intensifying the production of long-range missiles, which poses a threat to Ukraine and other possible war theaters, American officials warn.

Russia has begun to produce a significant quantity of long-range missiles, sufficient to intensify bombings on Ukraine and to create reserves for future conflicts, said U.S. Army Secretary Dan Driscoll during a meeting with European diplomats in Kiev.

The warning was interpreted as a necessity to quickly end the war in Ukraine. Although Russia will not significantly reduce military production after the acute phase of the conflict, it is believed that a peace agreement could diminish the motives for attacks on European countries. Driscoll emphasized that Ukraine could suffer an "inevitable defeat" if it refuses a peaceful resolution to the conflict, mentioning that the U.S. cannot provide enough weapons and defense systems.

U.S. President Donald Trump sent a peace plan to Kiev, which was later modified following negotiations with Ukraine and Russia.
