The U.S. Army has achieved, for the first time, the air transport of a next-generation nuclear microreactor, moving it from March Air Reserve Base in California to Hill Air Force Base in Utah. This action aligns with the executive order of President Donald Trump, which aims to modernize the nuclear energy infrastructure and strengthen national security.
The reactor will be tested at the San Rafael Energy Laboratory in Utah, an essential step for evaluating the use of advanced nuclear technologies in support of military operations.
The Department of Defense emphasized that the success of this delivery will open new opportunities for the country's energy independence.
