The United States is intensifying its economic offensive in the Balkans by signing multi-billion dollar agreements in the fields of energy, liquefied natural gas, and artificial intelligence, aimed at strengthening energy security in Europe. At a business forum in Croatia, U.S. Secretary of Energy Chris Wright emphasized the importance of these initiatives to counter Russian influence. The U.S. Ambassador to Greece, Kimberly Guilfoyle, signed a 20-year agreement worth 6 billion dollars for the export of liquefied gas to Albania. Additionally, a pipeline project between Bosnia and Croatia will transport American natural gas, contributing to the diversification of energy sources. Furthermore, a data center for AI, estimated at 50 billion euros, will be developed in Croatia to support regional digital infrastructure. Work on this center could begin in 2027, with operations planned for 2029, depending on obtaining the necessary permits.
