The United States Senate is set to vote on a bipartisan resolution aimed at limiting President Trump's authority to conduct military operations in Venezuela without Congressional approval. The vote comes after a raid by American special forces in Venezuela, which led to the capture of President Nicolas Maduro and his wife. The Trump administration has intensified military pressure on Venezuela, but the deployment of ground troops requires Congressional approval. The initiative, proposed by Senators Tim Kaine and Rand Paul, calls on the president not to use armed forces without a declaration of war or specific authorization from Congress. Although it has the support of the majority of Democrats and some Republicans, its passage in the Republican-controlled Senate remains uncertain.
