Pete Hegseth, the head of the Pentagon, dismissed accusations from the Democratic opposition and experts who claim that the United States is facing a shortage of ammunition due to the conflict in Iran, calling these statements a "made-up story." In an interview with CBS News, Hegseth stated that U.S. ammunition stocks are excellent and becoming increasingly stronger.

He emphasized that the United States produces the best and largest quantity of ammunition and that they are open to co-production. In contrast, Democratic Senator Mark Kelly expressed concerns about the decreasing stocks of Tomahawk and Patriot missiles.

Hegseth also mentioned that the Biden administration has allocated large sums for supporting Ukraine, which has required the replenishment of the American arsenal. Despite Hegseth's assurances, concerns persist among the opposition, which highlights the heavy use of ammunition in the conflict.
