The nuclear agreement recently concluded between the United States and Saudi Arabia, which allows the kingdom to develop nuclear reactors and enrich uranium for civilian purposes, has sparked initial reactions in Israel.

Political leaders and former security officials in Israel, including former Prime Minister Naftali Bennett, have described the agreement as a "serious strategic failure," warning that it could lead to a regional nuclear arms race.

Although Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has not publicly commented, critics emphasize that this agreement could destabilize the security balance in the Middle East. Former Defense Minister Avigdor Lieberman has called on Israel to oppose the agreement and to lobby in the U.S. Congress to block it. Negotiations for a civil nuclear agreement have taken place over several years but have been complicated by concerns about nuclear proliferation.
