The American Forces in South Korea (USFK) announced the return of the Patriot missile batteries, which had been temporarily deployed in the Middle East under the U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM). The USFK commander, General Xavier Brunson, emphasized the importance of these systems in ensuring strategic flexibility in the region.
The Patriot batteries are specifically designed for intercepting ballistic missiles at low and medium altitudes and are integrated into South Korea's missile defense network, alongside the THAAD system, to counter threats from North Korea. USFK expressed pride in the return of these troops home, highlighting their crucial role in national defense.
