John Healey, the British Defence Secretary, will present on Monday a set of measures that will allow British troops to shoot down suspicious drones that penetrate the airspace of military bases. These measures, included in the Armed Forces Bill, aim to eliminate the bureaucracy that hinders the military's response, allowing for immediate actions, including the use of firearms. Until now, troops could only use jamming equipment. In recent months, numerous incursions of Russian drones into Europe have been reported, and intelligence services estimate that Russia produces thousands of kamikaze drones monthly. The UK will invest £5 billion in modern defense and will send anti-drone experts to Moldova, highlighting the importance of a rapid response to aerial threats. This military adaptation reflects a new phase in the drone war in Europe.
