This decision extends the previous permission, which allowed American forces to use British bases for operations aimed at preventing Iran from launching missiles that could threaten British interests. Although the United Kingdom will not be directly involved in attacks, British ministers have agreed that the bases can be used for US defensive operations. At the same time, American President Donald Trump criticized NATO allies for their lack of support in the conflict with Iran, accusing them of complaining about rising oil prices without contributing to solving the problem. Trump emphasized that NATO is ineffective without US support and called for more decisive military action in the Strait of Hormuz.
