The tomb, excavated 3,000 years ago, required delicate work due to severe damage. It is decorated with ancient frescoes and houses the granite sarcophagus of the pharaoh. The restoration was carried out with the help of the Japanese government and UNESCO. Amenhotep III, who ruled for nearly four decades, was a prominent figure of the 18th dynasty, and his tomb is located in the necropolis of Thebes.
