Peter Magyar, the leader of the Hungarian opposition party Tisza, stated at a campaign rally in Szeged that his party will protect Hungary from illegal migration, will reduce taxes, and will increase pensions. He emphasized that Tisza will represent all Hungarians, regardless of age or political affiliation. Magyar harshly criticized Minister Janos Lazar for his comments about the ethnic origin of a Tisza candidate, accusing Fidesz of betraying Hungarians from Transylvania and supporting a hostile Romanian presidential candidate against Hungarians. The politician called on Prime Minister Viktor Orban to respond to the threats from Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico, who collectively stigmatizes Hungarians.
