On the night from Tuesday to Wednesday, a vessel carrying migrants capsized off the coast of Mauritania, with 160 people on board. By Friday, the coast guard and Mauritanian gendarmerie confirmed that at least 49 people had died, and approximately a hundred are reported missing. Authorities continue to investigate the incident, more than 48 hours after the tragic shipwreck.
