The Russian company Rosatom announced that a Ukrainian drone attacked the Zaporozhye nuclear power plant, the largest in Europe, without causing damage to essential equipment. The incident occurred on Saturday when a kamikaze combat drone struck the building of the turbine hall of Unit 6, leaving a hole in the wall.
Rosatom's director, Alexei Lihachev, stated that the explosion was deliberate but did not affect the main equipment. The plant, captured by Russia in March 2022, is located near the front line and has been repeatedly attacked during the conflict. Lihachev warned that the incident could lead to a nuclear accident, affecting not only Ukraine but also regions beyond its borders.
