On Tuesday, agents from the Secretariat for Citizen Security in Mexico City arrested a man who harassed President Claudia Sheinbaum during a public visit in the historic center. The incident occurred in front of the National Palace while the president was greeting passersby before attending an event at the Ministry of Public Education. A viral video shows how the man approached her, trying to kiss her on the neck and grab her by the waist and chest.
Although security personnel intervened quickly, the aggressor persisted in his behavior. Sheinbaum managed to push the man away and continued to smile for photos. The incident generated reactions of outrage from the public and politicians, who expressed their concern about the president's safety.
