The President of Ecuador, Daniel Noboa, was the target of an attack during the protests against the government, when his vehicle was targeted by gunfire.

The incident took place in the south of the country, in the context of protests organized by the indigenous organization Conaie, which contests the removal of the subsidy for diesel. Noboa stated that he will not allow violence to hinder the government's activity and announced that a complaint for attempted murder has been filed.
