The Pentagon is in negotiations with Gulf states for the purchase of interceptors manufactured in Ukraine, mentioned as a more economical solution against Iranian Shahed drone attacks, according to data from the Ukrainian industry, cited by the Financial Times.

The Gulf states have used expensive Patriot missiles, but their stocks are running low, and Ukraine has demonstrated the effectiveness of its interceptors, which cost only a few thousand dollars.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky discussed with leaders from Qatar and the United Arab Emirates about the use of Ukrainian anti-drone technology, emphasizing that any cooperation should not affect Ukraine's defense capabilities.

Iran has amassed tens of thousands of Shahed drones, launching them primarily against Gulf states.

Ukraine has adopted cheaper methods to shoot down drones, including anti-aircraft guns, and uses fast interceptors that can reach speeds of 250 km/h.

Ukraine also expresses concern about its reserves of anti-drone ammunition but hopes that the use of interceptors by Middle Eastern countries will leave more PAC-3 missiles available for its defense.
