During the Oslo Security Conference, Norway's Prime Minister, Jonas Gahr Støre, discussed with the head of European diplomacy, Kaja Kallas, the proposed European Union moratorium on oil and gas imports from the Arctic region.
Støre emphasized that the majority of the energy the EU receives from Norway comes from the Arctic, suggesting that banning these imports could have negative consequences, including redirecting supplies to other markets. Kaja Kallas mentioned that the EU's security strategy for the Arctic region is under development, without being able to provide details about its final content.
