The Dutch government has intervened exceptionally to take control of Nexperia, an important chip manufacturer owned by the Chinese group Wingtech. This measure was justified by concerns about the transfer of critical technologies to Beijing. The president of Wingtech has been suspended, and the company's shares fell by 10% on the Shanghai stock exchange. The Netherlands argues that the loss of these technological capabilities could affect Europe's economic security. Government control will restrict management decisions, but production will continue.
