Ramchandra Paudel, the president of Nepal, has dissolved the parliament at the recommendation of the new prime minister Sushila Karki, setting elections for March 5, 2026. This decision comes after days of political uncertainty and protests that led to the resignation of former prime minister K.P. Sharma Oli. Nepal has gone through a power vacuum, and tensions have risen, with protests resulting in 51 deaths and over a thousand injured.
