A high-level meeting between American, Danish, and Greenlandic officials, scheduled to discuss Greenland, has been moved from the White House to the Eisenhower building, a decision seen as an attempt to reduce tensions, especially after President Donald Trump's controversial comments regarding taking control of the island. Greenland's Prime Minister, Jens-Frederik Nielsen, stated that it is not the right time to discuss the island's independence, emphasizing the importance of the right to self-determination in the face of external threats.

Trump reiterated on social media that anything other than Greenland in the hands of the United States is unacceptable, expressing his desire to buy the island, which could cost up to 700 billion dollars. This meeting, scheduled for 10:30 AM Washington time, takes place in a tense geopolitical context.
