The Harms pastry shop in Lüneburg, Germany, has decided to rename a popular type of cookie from 'Amerikaner' to 'Greenlander' as a form of solidarity with Greenland, following the ambitions of U.S. President Donald Trump to purchase this Arctic territory from Denmark. The cookies, which are usually sold in the spring, have been renamed to reflect Europe's opposition to these intentions.

Director Jannik Harms emphasized that this initiative represents an advertising opportunity for their business and mentioned the importance of politics in everyday life. The pastry shop promotes the new variety with the slogan 'Make cookies, not war.' Harms also stated that he will keep the new name until Trump abandons his plans regarding Greenland. This action joins other resistance initiatives in Europe, including a café in Berlin that renamed another product from 'Americano' to 'Mexicano.'
