Merz is coordinating with European partners and is seeking clarifications from the American government to ensure stability in trade relations.

Trump announced a global tariff of 10%, threatening with additional increases, which worries Europeans, who fear that this could affect the previously agreed deal, which provided for tariffs of 15% on European products imported into the USA. In this context, MEPs emphasize the need for clarity from the USA before proceeding with the ratification of the agreement.
