The American Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) has issued a warning for airlines operating in certain regions, particularly near Mexico and several countries in Central and South America. This precautionary recommendation is motivated by 'military activities' in the area, which could create 'potentially dangerous situations' and disruptions to satellite navigation systems.
The warning is in effect for a period of sixty days. In this context, President Donald Trump stated on January 8 that the United States will begin ground attacks against drug cartels, after already conducting maritime attacks in the Caribbean and Pacific.
