The European Commissioner for Defense, Andrius Kubilius, proposed that the member states of the European Union consider the establishment of a combined military force capable of replacing American troops in Europe. This force could consist of 100,000 permanent soldiers, aimed at improving the security of the continent. The suggestion comes amid concerns regarding the attitude of American President Donald Trump and the threats posed by Russia. Kubilius emphasized the need for European allies to take more responsibility for their own defense and proposed the creation of a 'European Security Council' to facilitate rapid decision-making in the field of defense. This council could include permanent members and rotating allies, with the main objective of supporting Ukraine in the context of the current conflict.
