The European Commission announced on Wednesday that it has approved the action plan presented by platform X, owned by Elon Musk, to comply with the transparency obligations imposed by the Digital Services Act (DSA).
The plan aims to ensure the platform's transparency and facilitate researchers' access to data. The Commission emphasized that these measures are essential to allow researchers, civil society organizations, and the public to better understand how platform X operates, monitor systemic risks, and assess the impact on users and European society. This decision comes after the European Union sanctioned platform X with 120 million euros for violating European regulations. Additionally, platform X will be subject to an external audit and has six months to implement the plan, being under the supervision of European authorities during this period.
