The EU Court of Auditors highlights that the European Union has not found effective solutions for medicine shortages, despite identifying the causes, such as vulnerabilities in the supply chain. Although a list of critical medicines has been established, the political response of the member states is considered insufficient. The Court criticizes the European Medicines Agency for its lack of skills in managing shortages and recommends the creation of a single database for reporting supply issues.
