,, First of all, regarding a special aspect of inequity that the citizens of our country perceive. Nowhere do retirees exist in these systems at 48-50 years old, and nowhere, in a civilized country, is there a pension equal to the last salary or, as you know, for years it has been higher than the last salary. People who work shifts in Romania, who take buses to work, who keep the production lines running, public servants who do their duty correctly, our investors, do not feel respected as long as this system is functional. So this proposal addresses an aspect of social equity and corrects an injustice accumulated over these years.

As you know, correcting this injustice is one of the conditions that Romania has assumed and is a milestone in the PNRR, and once the procedure for assuming responsibility was initiated on the 28th, we believe that the conditions are met in such a way that Romania can collect the funds that are withheld from European funds. These are the reasons why the Government decided to assume responsibility with this bill." said the Prime Minister in the joint plenary.
