The European Commission has announced the fourth transfer of funds for Ukraine, amounting to 1.4 billion euros, derived from the interest generated by the RSB assets frozen due to the sanctions imposed on Russia for its aggression against Ukraine. Although the assets remain blocked, this interest will be used to support Ukraine, in line with the EU's commitment to assist the country in the face of the conflict.

The President of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, emphasized that the funds will be directed where the need is greatest, to maintain essential public services and support the Ukrainian armed forces. Of the total funds, 95% will be used through the Ukraine Loan Cooperation Mechanism (ULCM), which provides non-repayable support for loan repayments, and 5% through the European Peace Facility (EPF), which helps Ukraine respond to its urgent needs in the military and defense sectors. The total value of the support provided through ULCM amounts to 45 billion euros.
