On June 24, Venezuela was struck by a devastating double earthquake, and the death toll has risen from 1,450 to 1,719 deaths, according to statements by Jorge Rodriguez, the president of the National Assembly. Additionally, 5,034 people have been injured, and approximately 50,000 are reported missing, according to UN estimates, which continue search operations for survivors.

It is estimated that 855 buildings have been affected, of which 189 have completely collapsed, and 666 have suffered significant damage. Rodriguez mentioned that the two earthquakes were followed by 609 aftershocks, including one with a magnitude of 4.2, felt by the population. Experts warn that the chances of finding survivors are rapidly decreasing.
