The Iranian state press confirmed the death of the supreme leader, Ali Khamenei, just hours after the information was initially announced by American President Donald Trump on the Truth Social platform. Before the official confirmation, the authorities in Tehran had categorically denied the information, labeling it as psychological warfare and disinformation.

According to reports, at least four buildings in the official complex in central Tehran, which includes the residence and offices of the ayatollah, were hit during attacks launched by the US and Israel on military and command targets in Iran. Following the confirmation, Trump stated that military operations would continue, asserting that "heavy and precise" bombings would be maintained as long as necessary to achieve the announced objectives.
