Karim Khan, the chief prosecutor of the International Criminal Court (ICC), was suspended from his duties on Monday evening, following the decision of the court's oversight body to subject him to a disciplinary procedure.
He has been facing allegations of inappropriate sexual behavior for over two years, made by a former colleague, allegations that Khan has consistently denied, stating that he has not committed any illegal acts.
The final decision regarding his future in office will be made by the ICC's oversight body, which will convene a special session to assess whether Khan can continue to hold the position of chief prosecutor.
