The Chamber of Deputies in Argentina has adopted an amendment that allows the cancellation of presidential decrees by a single chamber of parliament, instead of both chambers, as was previously the case. This is a new blow to President Javier Milei, who, since taking office, has issued over 70 decrees to promote his austerity agenda. Milei is facing multiple scandals and economic difficulties, including a depreciation of the peso and requests for financial assistance from the U.S.
