Tesla, under the leadership of Elon Musk, has applied for a license to supply electricity in the UK, aiming to turn homes and cars into smart energy hubs. The company will compete with leaders such as Octopus Energy and British Gas. The business model could mimic operations in Texas, where Tesla Electric allows users to power homes and electric vehicles with sustainable energy. The 'vehicle-to-grid' technology could turn electric cars into grid resources as Tesla looks to expand its presence in the energy market after a recent slump in registrations.
