On the night from Saturday to Sunday, the city of Lviv was shaken by a terrorist attack that resulted in the death of a 23-year-old police officer and injured over 20 people. The explosions occurred near a shopping center, shortly after the police responded to a call regarding a burglary. The first explosion occurred when the first police crew arrived at the scene, immediately followed by a second bomb.
Mayor Andrii Sadovyi confirmed the terrorist nature of the attack, stating that several victims are in serious condition. Investigators have determined that the explosions were caused by homemade devices, and the area has been cordoned off for investigations. Although Lviv was considered a relatively safe area, the attack has caused shock among the local population, and hospitals have been put on alert. Authorities continue investigations to identify the perpetrators.
