The authorities in the United Arab Emirates have temporarily suspended air traffic after the military reported missile and drone threats from Iran, and explosions were heard over Dubai. After intercepting the projectiles, the situation stabilized and flights resumed. At the same time, a drone attack caused a fire in a fuel depot in Fujairah, with no reported casualties. On the other hand, Israel has intensified attacks on Iran and Lebanon, targeting Tehran and Hezbollah positions in Beirut, in response to missiles launched by Iran towards Israel. The conflict has displaced over a million people in Lebanon and increased the number of casualties. Regional tensions are affecting oil transport through the Strait of Hormuz, a crucial route for 20% of the world's oil, and attacks on commercial vessels have led to an increase in Brent oil prices above 100 dollars per barrel.
The US President has called for military support from other countries to secure the route, but no clear commitments have been announced.
According to Iranian authorities, over 1,300 people have died in attacks, and Israel claims to have destroyed a large part of Iran's defense capabilities, while the conflict continues to escalate.
