Dubai International Airport, one of the busiest air hubs in the world, reported a significant decrease in passenger traffic in the second quarter, with 13 million passengers, compared to 31.5 million in the first half of the year. This decrease of 31.3% compared to the same period in 2025 is attributed to the conflict in Iran, which has affected air transport in the region, causing travelers to avoid routes in the Middle East.

Additionally, the airport suffered minor damages due to Iranian attacks, and the number of aircraft movements decreased by 32.1% in the first six months, reaching 150,600. However, CEO Paul Griffiths stated that traffic has begun to recover, with a steady increase in passenger volume month over month. The airport expects more international airlines, especially European ones, to resume operations, which could support the return of passenger traffic.
