Teboil, the Finnish gas station operator owned by Lukoil, has announced that it is preparing to close all 430 stations in Finland, amid sanctions imposed by the United States on the parent company. The Finnish Ministry of Economy has assured that fuel supply will not be affected, as Teboil distributes fuel from a Finnish refinery owned by Neste.
The sanctions imposed by the US have significantly affected Lukoil's activities, including in Romania and Bulgaria, where the company is facing issues related to payments and drilling. Teboil stated that the stations will gradually close as fuel stocks are depleted, without providing an exact timeline. It was also mentioned that Lukoil might sell the gas station chain, and Finnish financial authorities have recommended caution in dealings with the company.
