The President of Taiwan, William Lai Ching-te, promised to accelerate the construction of the "T-Dome" air defense system in the face of military threats.

In his National Day speech, Lai emphasized the need to increase defense spending, stating that this is crucial for countering enemy threats. He also promised that Taiwan will strengthen its air defense system, reaching a spending level of over 3% of gross domestic product, with plans to reach 5% by 2030.
