Syrian President Ahmad al-Sharaa will make his first visit to Moscow today since the fall of Bashar al-Assad, to meet with Vladimir Putin.

This will be al-Sharaa's first visit to Russia since the overthrow of former Syrian leader Bashar al-Assad, who found refuge in the Russian capital. The Syrian delegation will include high-ranking officials, such as the foreign minister and military and economic representatives. The discussions will address economic issues related to investments, the status of Russian bases in Syria, and the re-equipping of the new Syrian army.
