Switzerland has rejected the requests of the United States to fly military aircraft over its territory, citing neutrality.

Switzerland has announced that it has refused, for the first time since the beginning of the conflict in the Middle East, two requests from the United States for military aircraft to fly over its territory, citing the right to neutrality.

The Swiss government specified that these requests referred to a reconnaissance plane that was to pass through Swiss airspace on March 15. While the military requests were denied, the government approved maintenance flights. Switzerland emphasizes that, considering that the United States and Israel are in conflict with Iran, the right to neutrality prohibits overflights by the parties involved for military purposes. However, humanitarian or medical flights are permitted.
