In August, Swiss watch exports decreased by 16.4%, reaching 1.57 billion francs, due to the 39% tariffs imposed in the USA and the ongoing decline in the Chinese market. All major markets recorded significant declines, with China experiencing a drop of 35.6%. Analysts suggest that this decline was expected following previous increases. The watchmaking industry, which represents 10% of Switzerland's exports, is facing major obstacles, and one manufacturer launched a special watch to draw attention to the tariff situation.
