Emanuele De Maria, a 35-year-old Italian man sentenced to 14 years in prison for the murder of a woman, committed suicide on Sunday by throwing himself off Milan's Duomo after allegedly stabbing a co-worker. De Maria, who was allowed to work outside prison, fell from a considerable height without causing any casualties among passers-by. The authorities quickly identified him as he had been on TV to talk about his life in prison. Police had been looking for him since the day before the attack.
