Car group Stellantis has confirmed that it will not make collective redundancies or close factories in Italy.

The announcement was made during a meeting with the Italian government to discuss problems in the car industry. The Italian car sector is facing falling production and the problem of idle plants. Estimates by the FIM-CISL union show that annual vehicle production could fall below 500,000 units this year.
