British Prime Minister Keir Starmer has tried to calm fears regarding a possible threat from Iran, after reports emerged about rising military tensions. Starmer emphasized that British authorities are constantly monitoring the security situation and have not concluded that the United Kingdom is at risk.

His statements come following reports that Iran has launched ballistic missiles towards the Diego Garcia military base, used by the US and the UK. The Prime Minister assured that there is no cause for alarm for the British population, although the international situation remains tense. Starmer also mentioned the importance of the Strait of Hormuz for oil transport, highlighting the need for careful analysis before making decisions regarding the reopening of this route.
