Spain's Economy Minister Carlos Cuerpo says the country will not accept NATO's target of 5% of GDP for defense, saying it will honor its military commitments. Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez confirmed that Spain will spend a maximum of 2.1% of GDP on defense, saying this level is sufficient. Although NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte questioned Spain's position, a diplomatic agreement was reached to ensure the summit went smoothly.
