The Spanish government has approved a aid package worth 5 billion euros to limit the economic impact of the US-Iran conflict. Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez announced that the value-added tax on electricity will be reduced from 21% to 10%, and other taxes applied to energy will be eliminated. These measures are part of a broader set of 80 interventions approved in an extraordinary government meeting, which will come into effect starting Saturday. Sanchez expressed his anger at the current situation, emphasizing that fuel prices have risen significantly globally. Additionally, Spanish authorities are analyzing the increase in natural gas imports from Algeria to diversify supply sources, considering that Spain is one of the largest importers of liquefied natural gas in Europe.
