SpaceX's Starship rocket, preparing for its tenth test flight, suffered a major explosion during a routine test at Starbase in Texas on June 18, 2025. SpaceX has assured that there are no casualties and that the test area is secure. The incident took place shortly after another explosion in May, when the rocket made it into space but exploded on return. Starship, the largest rocket ever built, is crucial to Elon Musk's plans to send humans to Mars and NASA's Artemis program.
