The Starlink satellite internet network offers free access in Iran, in the context where the authorities in Tehran have interrupted communications to limit the large-scale protests that erupted at the end of December.

Activists claim that the Starlink service is operational in Iran and can be used for free. "We can confirm that the free subscription for Starlink terminals is fully operational," said activist Mehdi Yahyanejad, based in Los Angeles, to AP.
