Polish Foreign Minister Radosław Sikorski asked Elon Musk on Wednesday whether he was using Starlink services for political purposes after Ukraine reported restrictions that disrupted military drone missions. Warsaw pays for Starlink’s subscription for Kyiv, and the service is essential to the communications and operations of the Ukrainian army.
“As European customers, we are watching you,” Sikorski wrote on the X platform. Musk did not immediately respond. The message referred to a public dispute in 2025, when the billionaire called the Polish minister a “small man” after he claimed that the Ukrainian front would collapse if Starlink were deactivated.
Volodymyr Zelensky’s adviser, Serhii Beskrestnov, said that SpaceX had limited the military version of the service to speeds above 160 kilometers per hour without warning Ukrainian forces. Several sources confirmed connection losses and the failure of several critical missions. Ukraine suspects that the measure could be linked to pressure from the Trump administration on Kyiv to halt attacks on Russian refineries.
