The Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico declared a state of emergency in the oil supply sector on Wednesday, following the disruption of deliveries from Russia through the Druzhba pipeline, affected by Russian attacks. Slovak authorities will release 250,000 tons from the emergency reserve to cope with the situation.

Fico accused Ukraine of not resuming deliveries, suggesting that it was trying to blackmail Hungary. He also threatened to suspend cooperation in electricity supply to Ukraine if deliveries are not resumed.

The Slovak ambassador to Ukraine has requested an official explanation, and Fico announced the intention to refer the situation to the European Commission for analysis. Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban also accused Ukraine of blackmail. The European Commission stated that there are no immediate risks to security or supply, as Slovakia has sufficient emergency reserves.
